Terms of use

This site describes what the firm does and the kind of work it takes on. It is written for people weighing a market they do not yet operate in, and it is general by design.

It is not legal, tax, accounting, immigration or investment advice, and it is not a recommendation to enter any particular market or to structure anything in any particular way. Requirements differ from one market to the next and change without notice. Nothing here was written with your facts in front of us, and nobody should act on it as though it had been.

Sending the form, writing to the address published here or speaking with us once does not make you a client of the firm. No engagement, no duty of care and no obligation of confidentiality arises until an engagement letter has been signed on both sides.

Two things follow from that, and both are practical. Do not send confidential, privileged or price-sensitive material through this site: describe the shape of the matter and keep the substance for a channel we have agreed. And do not treat anything said before that letter is signed as advice you can rely on — until it is signed we may also be speaking to someone whose interests run against yours, without either of us knowing it.

The case studies and testimonials published here illustrate the kind of assignment the firm takes on. They are neither a forecast nor a promise.

Every mandate turns on facts nobody controls: the market, the authority on the other side of the counter, the state of the client’s own documents, and the calendar. A result reached in one file says nothing about the result, the cost or the timetable of another. Nothing on this site guarantees any outcome.

Read it, print it, and quote from it with attribution. That is the licence, and it is a broad one. The limits are these:

• Do not reproduce the site, or a substantial part of it, to publish it elsewhere as your own.
• Do not harvest it automatically, mirror it, or resell access to it.
• Do not extract the photographs. They are licensed for use on this site and the licence does not travel with the file.
• Do not use the enquiry form to send unlawful, misleading, abusive or bulk unsolicited material.
• Do not probe, scan or interfere with the site or the infrastructure behind it, and do not attempt to reach any part of it that is not published.

The name Sovereign Gateway International, the bridge mark, the texts, the arrangement of the pages and the code behind them belong to the firm or to those who licensed them to it.

The photographs are licensed from third parties and credited in the site’s own records. The typefaces are used under the open licences their designers granted. None of it passes to you by reading the page.

The site is published as it is and as it happens to be available. We may change it, move it, take part of it down or stop publishing it altogether, at any time and without saying so first.

We do not undertake that it will be reachable without interruption, free of error, or free of anything harmful that reached it despite reasonable care.

Where this site points somewhere else, that is a pointer and nothing more. We do not control those destinations, we do not check them continuously, and pointing at one is not an endorsement of it or of anyone behind it.

So far as the law allows, the firm is not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on the general information published here, from being unable to use the site, or from anything reached through a link on it.

Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation — and nothing in them displaces rights the law gives you regardless of what any website says.

The date in force is at the head of this page. A change takes effect when it is published here, and continuing to use the site afterwards is how it is accepted. Before relying on anything important, the sensible habit is to look at this page again.
